As I already said here, I don't think it's a good idea to introduce a
macro facility that requires "makeinfo -E", because that will reveal
other problems.  (I know that because there was time when texinfo.tex
didn't support macros, which forced people to use "makeinfo -E".  The
results were so unsatisfactory that the addition of macro support to
texinfo.tex was embraced as a panacea.  Let's not repeat past
mistakes.)
